| Details |
Aliquantum awnings & shade panels are designed principally for domestic dwellings where they offer protection to the home & its contents rather than to they way people use their homes (i.e. alfresco coffee areas). They are custom sized to block as much summer sun as possible while permitting as much winter sun into the home as possible.
The principles of cooling the home have long involved the shading apertures and allowing cross ventilation to wash through the home. In many newer homes, these principles have been lost in design. IN recent years, home owners have solved heat build up problems associated with this poor building design by installing an ever increasing number of air-conditioning units. Electricity supply constraints have resulted in home owners & businesses being asked to turn down air conditioning in order to avoid black outs.
As the global warming/climate change debate hots up, we will all be asked to live in a more sustainable way. Reducing the nation’s electricity consumption will be part of the solution. Returning to past cooling methodology should also be part of the solution. Short of demolishing the thousands of homes that have built out to the gutter line, a more sensible way to resolve high use of air-conditioning is to retrofit external window treatment such as awnings. Not just the tired old ones – new products using durable materials and attractive designs.
The Aliquantum range of awnings are designed to take on increasingly unpredictable weather conditions – robust stainless steel frames, top of the range shading fabrics. Aliquantum canopies use Ferrari Soltis shade fabrics which have well proved longevity in Australia (12 years +) – when they need replacing, the new canopy can be simply slipped on like a pillow cover. The Slimline Shade panel produced by Aliquantum is particularly sound in heavy weather conditions; its supports both above and below allow for enormous strength to be achieved while retaining its position as probably our most attractive awning. Furthermore, if any component of the awning is damaged through storm or other event, it can be simply replaced. |
